Shadowlands

As migrants, the stories of the lands we leave behind are inscribed in our memories and on our skin. The country we settle on harbours stories of its own, often unheard or unacknowledged -- the 'shadowlands' of First Peoples' history. To live in Australia today is to be pinned between the weight of the past and the pull of hope for the future, layer upon layer of collective memory, identity and story interacting in complex ways.
